The team consists of Chris Collins, Dave Pettigrew,David Ricci, and Edward McArdle. Below are some brief overviews about us:

Chris Collins:
The Founder and President of Southwind Custom Builders, Chris Collins has worked for over 20 years in real estate property development and construction, starting in 1985 with La Jolla Development Co.

Collins has forged an impressive list of accomplishments that includes: developing the San Diego Polo Club, Rancho Valencia Resort (www.ranchovalencia.com), and Collins Corporate Center, a 160,000 square foot, Class A, office complex in Del Mar, California. He has also been intimately involved with high profile residential projects including homes for Senator Lloyd Bentsen, homebuilder Ed Shea (of Shea Homes and Gertrude Fischer). Other high profile commercial projects that bear Collins’ signature include the renovation of the La Valencia Hotel and that of the 1860 Victorian residence on Banker’s Hill now known as the Britt Scripps Inn.

Collins earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Colorado State University. He now resides in Rancho Santa Fe with his wife of nearly 20 years and their four children.

Dave Pettigrew:
Dave Pettigrew has more than 32 years of experience as a licensed general contractor/construction manager.

Upon relocating to San Diego in 1984, Pettigrew founded the company that is known today as Competitive Edge Construction, Inc.; a B-1 and C-33-licensed corporation. Since its inception, the company has completed more than $150 million in construction projects.

Projects overseen by Pettigrew are wide-ranging; they include renovation of commercial properties such as banks, apartment units and athletic fields; as well as the remodel and new construction of residential properties. Other projects completed by Competitive Edge Construction include renovation and construction of churches, academic institutions and low-income housing units.

As a Partner in Competitive Edge Development (http://www.compedgedev.com), Pettigrew has developed over $108 million in charter schools in Southern California. Notable charter schools include, Escondido Charter High School in Escondido, CA (http://escondidocharter.org) and Santa Rosa Academy in Menifee, CA (https://www.facebook.com/SantaRosaAcademy).

Pettigrew has received awards from the American Institute of Architects and the San Diego American Planning Association.

David J. Ricci:

David has extensive experience in business development, land sales, land development and law. He has over five years of corporate law firm experience, handling regulatory issues for multiple fortune five hundred companies. He also has over five years of Business Development experience. This experience includes technology licensing for AltaVista Internet Search Company and serving as the Director of Land Acquisition and Development for Union Community, LLC. David’s passion for economics brought him to work for the U.S. Treasury Department – Undersecretary for Domestic Finance, Jerome Powell in Washington D.C. David holds a BS in Economics and Commerce, a Juris Doctorate in Law and an M.B.A. – all from Santa Clara University.

Edward McArdle, AIA, NCARB: 
Ed oversees all architecture and design for Pacific Land Development Partners. Ed graduated with honors in 1975 from the University of Illinois, earning a Master of Architecture degree in design. He received several distinguished awards as a result of his academic achievements including the Francis Plym Fellowship, Ryerson Fellowship for Design and European Study as well as the American Institute of Architects School Medal. Edward’s professional experience encompasses over 35 years with some of the largest firms in the country, most notable Murphy/Jahn in Chicago, where he was involved with the design of high-rise office buildings, hotels and corporate centers. In 1989, Edward founded MAA in Carlsbad, California and for over twenty years has continued to expand the company’s diverse portfolio while adding his unique artistic design concepts to the community.
